At Credit Answers, we take our commitment to customer satisfaction very seriously. We resolve every issue brought to our attention. Unfortunately, the BBB unfairly lumps all debt
settlement companies into one category and unjustly has a new policy which refuses to evaluate companies on a individual basis. Although our track record with the BBB is almost perfect, our rating does not reflect reality
because the BBB will not analyze how we respond to clients.

TASC (The Association Of Settlement Companies) Letter To The BBB
Below is a letter from The CEO of TASC (The Association Of Settlement Companies) to the CEO of The Better Business Bureau regarding the issue of the unfair rating system the BBB has imposed on the debt settlement industry..
President of TASC, Chris Kesterson writes in response to the BBB position on Debt Settlement
I write on behalf of The Association of Settlement Companies (TASC) regarding the Better Business Bureau's policy on the rating of debt settlement companies. TASC is the predominant national association of
settlement companies representing over 170 member companies. It was formed to provide operating standards for member companies and to promote effective and fair legislation affecting the industry. TASC's
goals are to promote good business practice in the debt settlement industry, protect the interests of consumer debtors, and educate legislators and regulators at all levels of government with respect to
the issues involved in the debt settlement industry.

Articles On The BBB
Below are some articles on the validity of the BBB rating system.
Settlement Companies Protest Better Business Bureau Rating System
Consumers who are considering working with a debt settlement company may find little help checking out those firms with the Better Business Bureau. "Under the BBB's new rating system, it is virtually
impossible for a debt settlement company to be rated anything other than a 'D' or 'F'," warns The Association of Settlement Companies (TASC), the professional association for the debt settlement industry. Debt
settlement companies help consumers who cannot pay the full amount of their unsecured debts negotiate reduced payoffs or "settlements" with creditors. These companies are becoming a popular option for
debt-strapped consumers who are looking for a bankruptcy alternative but cannot pay back their full debts through credit counseling.

Is The Better Business Bureau's Rating Fine Or Flawed?
Businesses can pay to improve their rating with the Better Business Bureau under a system recently adopted nationwide. For years, the BBB, which has 111 U.S. chapters that pay to license the name, rated
businesses as "satisfactory" or "unsatisfactory." About five years ago, the BBB of the Southland, which covers Orange, Los Angeles, Riverside and San Bernardino counties, came up with a system for grading
businesses from A+ to F. The system has been tested and tweaked and in January was rolled out for the approximately 4 million companies in the BBB database.
